MGS's work for the relief and resettlement in the Ayeyarwaddy Delta
(from June 2008 to date)

Relief team of the MGS has conducted6 Projects in 3 programme area approved by Ministry of Relief, Resettlement and Social ffair of the Myanmar Government for the relief and resettlement in the Ayeyarwaddy Delta (Ayeyarwaddy and Yangon Divisions).

Supporting necessary post-disaster utilities 1. Providing Clothes Pyapon, Bogale , Ngaputaw, Laputta townships in Ayeyarwaddy and
Dedaye and Kawthmu and Kungyangon in Yangon Division
20,000 Households 1. distribution of clothes completed
  2. Supporting Domestic Water Kawthmu, Bogale and Mawlam- yaingkyun Townships 16,000 Households 1. well in Mawlamyaingkyun,
2 wells in Kawthmu and
7 wells in Bogale Townships completed
  3. Supporting Medical Equipments Division Hospitals and local hospitals in Yangon and
Ayeyarwaddy Division, and mobile teams/hospitals of local NGOs
  1. distributed to mobile teams of Myanmar Medical Association and Dr. Sai Mon Thar Group
2. transferred to Ayeyarwaddy Division Hospital
3. distributed to aged people through Social Affair Ministry
  4. Expanding existing accommodation of home for aged Home for aged in Mawlamyaingkyun Township 50 Aged people 1. finding funding for constructing new building
Basic Education Support 5. Providing meals, clothes, books and stationeries to orphan students Pyapon Township, Ayeyarwaddy Division Dedaye Township, Yangon Division Pyapon Township, Ayeyarwaddy Division Dedaye Township, Yangon Division 1. selected and applied through implementing partners (Kani Orphanage Trustee)
Advance Education Support 6. Awarding stipends to university/college students Maubin and Pathein Universities, Bogale Education College, Magway University of Medicine 1. Provided Fund to 25 students 2. Provided Funds for Geology Field trips of Maubin and Pathein Universities
